Grey-Bruce Coatings & Insulation - Polyurethane Sprayed in Place Insulation

Polyurethane Sprayed-In-Place Insulation
(R6/inch)

Polyurethane is a two component sprayed-in-place insulation. It is a very effective form of thermal barrier in that it is sprayed directly onto the desired surface forming a continuous, monolithic coating without seams to jeopardize the efficiency of the insulation. It has the greatest thermal resistance of all insulations, does not support mould or mildew, and reduces dust, allergens, and pollutants as well as sound transmission.

Polyurethane also seals any cracks and small gaps that are present in the surface itself as found in many foundation materials. Adhering to practically any dry, clean surface it conforms to irregular cavity shapes and forms a vapour barrier eliminating the need for plastic wraps. This type of insulation does not settle or sag over time and retains its thermal resistance value. As this insulation is flammable it must be covered with a protective thermal barrier if in a habitable area.

Polyurethane is probably the most effective & efficient insulation on the market today. It is effectively used in a wide variety of applications including but not limited to basement walls, crawl space walls, sloped ceilings, exterior walls, floors above foundations, heated floors and many more.
