Fibreglas Batt Insulation (R3.5/inch)

Fibreglass Batt Insulation is designed to fit between wall studs, ceiling rafters or roof trusses. Batts are rectangular sections of insulation designed to form an envelope around the entire house or building and must be cut to fit irregular spaces. They are available in different thicknesses to provide thermal resistance values from R12 to R40 and can be stacked on top of each other to provide higher resistance values when required.

Millions of tiny air spaces throughout the individual fibreglass batt act as the barrier to heat flow. An integral part of any batt insulation system is the 6mm polyethylene continuous vapour barrier. This vapour barrier maintains the efficiency of the insulation by impeding the flow of moisture and air through the insulation. When batt insulation is installed along with the proper vapour and moisture retarders, ventilation, caulking and weather stripping it makes an effective insulation in the building envelope.
