Blown Cellulose Fibre Insulation (R 3.84/inch)
Cellulose Fibre Insulation is a very effective form of insulation in wall cavities and flat attic spaces. As well as being a good insulator it is environmentally friendly as it is manufactured from recycled paper products. Fire retardants are added to the Cellulose Fibre to solve any flammability issues.
Because Cellulose Fibre is a loose blown product it covers joists, fills in and around irregular surfaces, voids and cavities leaving no cracks or joints open for heat loss or air infiltration. Due to the small particle size Cellulose Fibre, when blown properly, fills more small spaces than any other blown product. Therefore it reduces air leakage and convection heat loss, decreasing your fuel costs and saving you money. Also, this insulation contains no formaldehyde and is non-carcinogenic so it is safe for the installers and inhabitants of your home. As an added bonus the brand we install, Climatizer Plus, is manufactured close to home supporting our local economy, reducing shipping costs and green house gas emissions.
Cellulose Fibre is widely used in the retrofit and new building markets as it is very well suited for blowing into un-insulated wall cavities, flat and sloped attic spaces. With its relatively high thermal resistance value this product will result in an R15 value in a 2"x4" stud wall and R21 in a 2"x6" stud wall to vastly improve your homes comfort and energy efficiency.
With approvals from Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB), Canadian Construction Material Council (CCMC), National Research Council (NRC), Underwriters Laboratory of Canada (ULC), Cellulose Insulation Manufacturers Association of Canada (CIMAC), and Terra Choice Environmental Choice product Cellulose Fibre is a great choice for your insulation project.
